The Meaning of the Temple

The folk group that I am studying are called Shamans, they perform, create, and give advice on how to make a ritual for various occasions or situations. The people who believe, and want the rituals or want to experience the ritual are the ones it is performed for, usually you need to want the help or ritual in order for the ritual to occur, if you do not desire to go proceed with it then they will not proceed or help you.

Ritual

The Mayan rituals are like nothing anyone has ever seen, or most haven’t had the pleasure to experience. Mayan’s believed in the higher power, and they never questioned if there was anything that they needed to change to or if they went too far when it came to appeasing one’s god, with that in mind the “axiom”, was in their minds and that's is how most of the Mayan rituals were created. Mayan’s had religious beliefs, and those beliefs led them to sacrifice and appease their god. The rituals were an essential part of their livelihood, where they not only build a culture around, but created a civilization that changed life as we know it. The simple existence of the Mayan’s bloodletting in their rituals were so major in their lives that some refer to it as the following: “(much like Christian baptism, communion and marriage) and Mayan Human Sacrifices (as well as animal) were common occurrences.”

CENOTE

Cenote's are spiritual locations found all over Mexico, mainly in Chichen-Itza, Tulum where the Mayans and Aztecs would sacrifice and throw the bodies of those whom gave themselves to the gods. Many still go today to enjoy the magical and healing properties of the Chichen-Itza waters today, but many have been privatized today, there are only a number of cenote's unchartered waters today.
